My VST folder is where I install my plugins and I use the Organised folder as my VST directory in Ableton. Once I've installed a plugin to my VST folder, I'll right click on the.dll file for that plugin and create a shortcut, then put the shortcut in the Organised folder. I'll go through and do this for every plugin I install. Click New Folder under the Plug-in Menu Layout category. Make a right-click on the New Folder and choose Rename to set a name for the folder.; In the Registered Plug-ins list, click on the effect you'd like to add(to make multiple selections, hold down the CTRL or SHIFT key and click each plug-in you wish to select), choose the correct folder and click Add Plugin. Generally plugins get installed in Program files VST or Program files (x86) VST. I suggest using the former for 64 bit plugins and the latter for 32-bit plugins (I personally just have them all go to Program files (x86) VST and have a subfolder for 32-bit, but it's sloppy and I don't recommend it). Plugin manager doesn't allow to delete old plugins from the register or somehow edit their settings, just to exclude them. Also I can't add any new VST plugins, since, apparently, scanning doesn't work (tried manual, background and on startup). Re-installation didn't help. I tried Sonar X3 with and without MC6T installed. Underneath you can see there are plugins for VST, VSTi, AU, AUI, Js etc. If you know specifically the type of plugin then you could probably go into the that folder. As you can see from the screen shot, in the ‘Filter List’ I have typed ‘had’ and this has brought up all my UAD plugins. I’m looking for a specific plugin called the CS-1. Go to your VST plug-ins folder. Right click on each plugin you want and choose “Create shortcut” (multi-selection works too). Move these shortcuts to your new folder, and create sub-folders to organize them. You can now access plug-ins quickly using the shortcuts, inside the appropriate folders.
